Competition Update

The Juniors Nationals & Cotswold Regionals 2021 is now just a few weeks away! Here’s a quick update for competitors and crews.

Competition Shirts
If you would like a competition T-shirt or polo shirt and haven’t ordered one yet, please click here and place your order no later than Saturday 7th August.

Waypoint & Airspace Files
The waypoint and airspace files are now available on the Downloads page, along with a number of other useful files and the Local Procedures.

COVID-19 Safety Information
Please read the COVID-19 Safety Briefing which is essential reading for all pilots, crews and other visitors to the airfield. We kindly ask that you follow the guidance in this document to make sure that we can all enjoy a fun and safe competition.

Camping Facilities
We’re excited to announce that our competition campsite will have electrical outlets this year. Camping is free but there will be a small charge of £25 (less than £3 per day) for caravans and tents using the electricity supply. There’s no need to pre-book, just pitch up and pick a spot in one of the competition camping areas.

Junior Nationals

We’re pleased to confirm that next year’s Junior Nationals will be held at Aston Down from 21st to 29th August. The competition will be open to anyone who could have entered this year, which means that you will still be able to fly if your 26th birthday is in 2021.

The 2021 competition will follow the usual Juniors entry process, so please keep an eye out for the announcements early next year. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the BGA, there will be no entry fee for the 2021 Junior Nationals.

Cotswold Regionals

Entries for the 2021 Cotswold Regionals are now open. If you’ve already paid your entry fee deposit for this year’s competition, then your entry has been automatically carried over to next year.

Regional championships are open to any cross-country pilot with a silver badge. Whether it’s your first ever competition or you’re an experienced competitor looking for a fun week’s flying, this is the competition for you … and if you’ve recently become too old to fly the Juniors, then this is an opportunity to keep flying with them!

The entry fee for this competition is a very affordable £125, with a deposit of £50 due before 28th February 2021.
